A must read if you are considering gold...
M.M. (Naples, Florida) -- Kosares wrote an easy to read book that you should have in your library if you own gold or are considering gold as an investment. All the basic "how to buy" information is here plus much more. For example, The chapter titled "G is For Government Debt" is a real eye opener if you want to know how the U.S. dollar got into the mess it is in today. Reading this chapter alone should give you reasons to invest in hard assets as opposed to currency based investments. Kosares is not new to the gold market. He has been writing about gold and educating consumers about this precious metal for many years. In fact, this is the second edition of his book and it appears to have been substantially updated. Bottom line - read "The ABC's" of Gold Investing" and then read it again. There is much wisdom between the covers of this book.

A good read: This book was a fun, easy read. The author gives you a basic history about gold, the changing political and monetary climate concerning it, how gold was viewed before by people and governments around the world as compared to now, why you should view gold not just as an investment but, more importantly, as a kind of insurance policy. I've read it twice now, and more of it sank in the second time around so that it makes more sense to me now. Great primer for those interested in gold as an investment: Michael has written an excellent book for people who want to understand gold, its importance as an investment vehicle and how to invest. The book does a good job at convincing you so don't get carried away and start buying gold. Like any other investment gold has its pros and cons. Do more research and reading before you spend your hard earned money. Look at some websites like kitco and gold-eagle.

A no nonsense guide to investing in Gold: This book provides the basics on how to invest in gold. In a pragmatic way it explains the vocabulary and the pros and cons of gold investment. What I found most useful was the fact that it detailed how the market affects gold prices and dispels some of the common myths of adding gold to your portfolio. I highly recommend this book for all who are interested in gold investing.

Excellent resource for preservation of assets! I was looking for a good resource for investing in Gold. I found it in this book. The author did an excellent job in laying out the argument for investing in Gold. He uses his vast experience as well as history to show us why Gold will always be the ultimate hedge against the financial storms. I highly recommend it to all, especially skeptics!

An eye opening trip through the history and function of gold: As a man of only thirty-nine years, ABC's has given me enlightenment not obtainable in the public schools, or in the mainstream press. Since the elimination of gold as "lawful money" occurred before my lifetime, I would have been otherwise unaware of how it's removal from our monetary system has eroded the wealth of the common man, and disempowered every U.S. citizen. Good reading for anyone concerned that the "Asian Contagion" could eventually wash ashore here. You will never view the green paper in your pocket in the same light.
